Lumen-apposing metallic stents (LAMS) were designed to create an anastomosis between 2 adjacent structures. Originally used for pancreatic collections, LAMS are now commonly used for multiple indications, including gastric outlet obstruction as well as gallbladder and biliary drainage.1,2 The traditional method for LAMS placement uses endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) guidance. This article presents an innovative percutaneous delivery and deployment of LAMS for the creation of percutaneous cholecysto-enteric anastomoses (PCEA) allowing for internal drainage of the gallbladder (Figure).
