Research Article: Creativity across the lifespan: changes with age and with dementia

Abstract:
It is well known that older age is associated with losses in cognitive functioning. Less is known about the extent to which creativity is changing with age or dementia. Aim of the current study was to gain more insights into psychometric aspects of creativity in younger and older people as well as people with dementia.

Introduction:
Age-related changes occur not only in physical and functional abilities, but also affect our cognitive abilities. Many studies have shown that aging is associated with deterioration of performance in various cognitive abilities. This includes memory, logical thinking speed of processing, executive functions, working memory, and language [1,2,3,4].
