Introduction:
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), characterized by persistent airflow obstruction and respiratory symptoms, is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Growing evidence suggests that COPD is associated with various extrapulmonary effects, including weight loss, cardiovascular disease, skeletal muscle atrophy (associated with inflammation ), and an oxidative-stress (OS) response, resulting in impaired functional capacity, worsening dyspnea, and a reduced health-related quality of life (QoL).
