Research Article: Potential Role and Expression Level of Urinary CXCL in Different Stages of Incipient Diabetic Nephropathy with Undiminished Creatinine Clearance: A Pilot Study

Date Published: 2023-06-17

Abstract:
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most devastating microvascular complications of diabetes. It occurs in approximately –% of patients with diabetes, and has become one of the major causes of end-stage renal failure, leading to poor quality of life and increased mortality. The direct costs of treatment for DN are, on average, three times higher than those of patients with uncomplicated diabetes. As a significant global challenge, DN has a significant social and economic burden. A progressive decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) usually indicates the irreversible progression of DN, and early intervention is crucial to improve the outcomes of DN.
