Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common multifactorial disorder of the pilosebaceous unit. , Follicular epidermal hyperplasia, sebum production, the presence and activity of bacteria, most frequently Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) , inflammation, and immune response are the four essential components of the pathophysiology of acne vulgaris.
