Research Article: A Novel Clinical Tool to Detect Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Introduction:
Patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSA) usually have recurrent hypoxemia, hypercapnia and microarousal, which leads to sleep fragmentation, poor sleep quality. Severe OSA is defined as the Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI)> events per hour, which is obtained by overnight polysomnography (PSG). It is estimated that million patients are moderate to severe OSA.
