Research Article: Prognostic Analysis and Biomarkers Identification of Immune Infiltration in Early and Late Stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma Based on TCGA Data
Abstract:
Primary liver cancer is the most common cancer in the world and a common cause of cancer death. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) accounts for –% of primary liver cancer. The main risk factors for HCC are chronic infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis C virus (HCV). Currently, surgical resection and transplantation are the most effective methods for the treatment of liver cancer, but the recurrence rate is still high and the prognosis is poor. Surgical resection is the main intervention for HCC patients who are diagnosed in the early stages. However, early diagnosis and effective therapy of HCC remain a challenge, and most of HCC cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, with less opportunity to take curable surgery, thus contributing to the poor survival rate. Consequently, it is urgent to reveal the underlying molecular mechanisms of HCC development from early stage to late stage.
