Research Article: Safety and Effectiveness of Transarterial Chemoembolization in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients Aged Greater versus Less Than Years
Abstract:
Liver cancer is a common malignancy, ranking sixth in frequency and third in terms of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common form of primary liver cancer, accounting for %-% of cases, and is associated with poor prognosis. While surgical resection, liver transplantation, and ablation are potentially curative options, only a small number of patients are eligible for these treatments. For patients with unresectable HCC, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) has been recommended as an effective palliative therapy, showing promising survival outcomes.
