Research Article: Adherence to Atrial Fibrillation Better Care (ABC) Pathway Management of Chinese Community Elderly Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: A Cross-Sectional Study
Abstract:
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a type of supraventricular tachyarrhythmia caused by ineffective atrial contraction that results from uncoordinated atrial electrical activity. According to data from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), there are approximately . million AF patients worldwide, and this is projected to increase . times by . AF imposes a heavy burden on society and families, with about % of AF patients hospitalized at least once each year. The prevalence of AF increases with age. Results from the largest epidemiological study of AF in China found that the mean age of AF patients was .±. years. Patients > years of age account for .% of all cases. It is critical that AF is effectively managed in elderly individuals.
