Research Article: Risk Factors for Granulomatous Mastitis and Establishment and Validation of a Clinical Prediction Model (Nomogram)
Abstract:
Granulomatous mastitis (GM), also known as idiopathic granulomatous mastitis clinically, is a benign inflammatory disease of the breast. The pathological features of GM are lobular-centered multifocal non-caseous granulomatous lesions of the breast. GM accounts for about –% of clinical breast benign lesions, mainly occurring in women of childbearing age. The early clinical manifestations of GM are not specific, and it is easily misdiagnosed. Histopathological examination is the primary diagnostic method. The disease has a long course and is easy to relapse, seriously affecting patients’ breast appearance and quality of life. The occurrence of GM has been on the rise in recent years; however, the predisposing factors remain unclear, making it more challenging to prevent and treat GM.
