Research Article: Mastoparan M Suppressed NLRP Inflammasome Activation by Inhibiting MAPK/NF-?B and Oxidative Stress in Gouty Arthritis
Abstract:
Gouty arthritis is a painful and inflammatory disease caused by the accumulation of MSU crystals in joints and surrounding tissues. Numerous studies conducted in Asia, Europe, and North America have reported varying prevalence rates for gout, ranging from . to . cases per person-years. Among adults, the prevalence rates have been documented between .% and .%, with a notable increase in both incidence and prevalence over time. Currently, the main drugs used to treat gouty arthritis are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), colchicine, and corticosteroids. Due to the potential occurrence of adverse reactions and inconsistent treatment effectiveness associated with these medications,, there is an urgent need to develop new drugs for the treatment of gouty arthritis.
