Introduction:
People living with bipolar I disorder (BD-I) have an increased risk of obesity compared with the general population. Increased body weight is a significant risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease, a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in people with BD-I. – Higher body mass index (BMI), specifically obesity, is associated with adverse cardiometabolic outcomes, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, type diabetes, coronary heart disease, and stroke.
