Research Article: Real-World Amount of Clotting Factor Concentrates Dispensed and Annual Medical Expenditures for Japanese Patients with Hemophilia B
Introduction:
Hemophilia B is an inherited clotting disorder caused by missing or defective factor IX (FIX), a serine protease of the coagulation cascade intrinsic pathway. The World Federation of Hemophilia found that in there were patients with hemophilia B in Japan, as reported by Japan Foundation for AIDS Prevention. The main treatment approach for these patients is intravenous FIX replacement therapy.
