Abstract:
Breast cancer has overtaken lung cancer as the most common cancer worldwide, with . million new cases in women, yearly. According to the latest GLOBOCAN data, it is the most common cancer in women, with , (.%) cases in Turkey. As a result of the lack of community-based organized mammographic screening and low awareness, in a study we conducted with , patients, only % of the patients diagnosed were ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), % were Stage I and % were Stage II breast cancer. The hormone receptor (HR) positive HER- negative patient group constitutes ~% of the early-stage breast cancer patients.
