In China, cadaveric organ donation accounts for an overwhelming % of all organs available for transplantation. Cadaveric organ donation refers to the voluntary donation of all or part of the organs by donors after their death to facilitate transplantation. At present, mainland China has a low organ donation rate with only donors per million people, while Hong Kong in China has donors per million people. In contrast, Spain (.), Croatia (.), Portugal (.), Belgium (.), and Croatia (.) have the top five donation rates. The low donation rate poses a significant challenge that hinders the progress of organ donation. Insufficient knowledge about cadaveric organ donation among the general public is a crucial factor responsible for the low rate of cadaveric organ donations. University students who demonstrate open-mindedness and a willingness to accept new concepts could serve as a potential donor cohort. Therefore, it is essential to investigate university students’ attitude and knowledge regarding cadaveric organ donation.
