Research Article: Real-World Experience of Treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with Triple Therapy
Abstract:
According to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guidelines, patients with COPD who have already been treated with an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)/long-acting ?-agonist (LABA) or a long-acting muscarinic antagonist/long-acting ?-agonist (LAMA/LABA) and still have significant dyspnea symptoms (COPD assessment test score > or Modified Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale score ?) and a history of exacerbations can benefit from triple therapy. Triple therapy can improve pulmonary function, breathlessness, dyspnea, and quality of life and lower the risk of exacerbations compared to LAMA alone, LABA/LAMA and LABA/ICS–
