Research Article: Comparison of Edge of Lamina Block with Thoracic Paravertebral Block and Retrolaminar Block for Analgesic Efficacy in Adult Patients Undergoing Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery: A Prospective Randomized Study

Date Published: 2023-07-13

Abstract:
Thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) can provide effective perioperative analgesia and is currently used extensively in thoracic surgery as part of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol., However, complications such as pneumothorax and nerve or vessel injury cannot be completely avoided. As an alternative to TPVB, interfascial plane block, including erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and RLB, has no risk of injection-induced injury and has also become commonly used analgesic method in chest surgery,– but its analgesic effect is inferior to that of TPVB.
