Introduction:
Extended-spectrum-?-lactamase- (ESBL-PE) and carbapenemase- producing-Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) are serious and critical pathogens in healthcare systems. Major clinical problems are widespread due to these pathogens and constitute a great challenge for physicians in their management of patients. For instance, bacteremia caused by ESBL-PE has been associated with higher mortality rate than the non-ESBL-PE isolates.
