Introduction:
Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is an alternative to invasive mechanical ventilation in treating acute or chronic respiratory disorders in newborns (NB) associated with impaired respiratory function, inadequate pulmonary ventilation, and altered gas exchange, which result in respiratory failure. Avoiding intubation and using NIV modes in premature newborns reduces the risk of lung injury and optimizes neonatal outcomes.
