Research Article: The Impact of ESBLs-Positive Escherichia coli’s Resistance to Cefepime and Its Guidance for Clinical Treatment
Abstract:
With the continuous improvement of clinical recognition and prevention and treatment levels of bacterial infectious diseases, the emergence of Gram-negative multidrug-resistant bacteria and the infectious disease problems it causes have become one of the important challenges facing global public health. However, the enhancement of drug resistance and the ineffectiveness of commonly used antibiotics have made it increasingly difficult for clinical doctors to treat infectious diseases. Escherichia coli (E. coli), as one of the most common pathogenic bacteria, produces extended-spectrum ?-lactamases (ESBLs), which makes the treatment of infectious diseases caused by it increasingly challenging. ESBLS-positive bacteria show a highly resistant state to conventional antibacterial drugs, and this resistance is increasing. Therefore, how to effectively delay and control the further rise of bacterial resistance has become an urgent problem to be solved in the current treatment of bacterial infectious diseases.
