According to a recent study, the incidence of acute pancreatitis has increased over time with an average annual percent change (AAPC) of .%. Unfortunately, –% of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) develop acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP), which leads to multiple organ failure (MOF) and infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN) with high mortality., The pathogenesis of ANP is quite complex. It is widely accepted that the development of ANP is strongly associated with early impairment of pancreas microcirculation, characterized by microthrombus due to platelet activation.– Thus, inhibiting platelet activity at an early stage is essential for preventing pancreatic necrosis.
