Research Article: Hybrid FeWO-Hyaluronic Acid Nanoparticles as a Targeted Nanotheranostic Agent for Multimodal Imaging-Guided Tumor Photothermal Therapy
Abstract:
Multimodal imaging integrated with two or more imaging modalities has significant impact on the medical detection and diagnosis of various diseases.– Imaging technologies such as near-infrared (NIR) imaging, computed tomography (CT) imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET) have been widely studied and applied in various fields. Of these, CT can provide images with high spatial and density resolution, while MRI offers favourable soft tissue contrast. Therefore, dual-modality CT/MRI imaging with complementary properties is beneficial for improving the efficiency of diagnosis. The development of contrast agents with multimodal imaging ability is necessary for more accurate diagnosis since they have superior sensitivity and could distinguish lesion from normal tissues. More importantly, multimodal imaging is expected to reduce the dosages of contrast agents, hence reducing their toxicity and side effects.
