Abstract:
Human skin serves as an effective barrier to infection, protecting the underlying tissues, bones, and organs.– Wounds are defined as a breach in the skin or tissues’ structural integrity that affects the skin’s ability to defend itself., As one the most common causes of death and morbidity in surgical patients, wound infection accounts for % to % of deaths after burn injuries.– Out of all surgical deaths, around –% deaths are caused by wound infection.– Bacteria that cause pus production or wound infection include S. aureus, Clostridium spp., Actinomyces spp., E. coli, Proteus spp., Neisseria spp., Vibrio vulnificus and Candida spp.
