Research Article: Associations of Serum Clara Cell Protein with Severity and Prognosis in Adults with Community-Acquired Pneumonia
Abstract:
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a significant reason for morbidity and mortality, which has posed a huge threat to human health all over the world. Because of regular complications and a long hospitalization period, mortality is still high among CAP patients.– CAP is a popular infectious disease. At present, more than million CAP patients emerge in America, with million hospitalizations and , deaths from pneumonia every year. As many countries have faced an aging society, immune system is decreased, as well as changing characteristics of pathogens and rising antibiotic resistance are incrementally occurring, CAP therapy is presently encountering lots of new challenge in today’s complex world.– Several more effective biomarkers may offer assistance to estimate the illness condition and reduce the death risk in CAP patients. Previous studies have found that levels of serum annexin A, procalcitonin, D-Dimer, and miR-b can predict the severity and prognosis in CAP patients.– In addition, a series of studies from our team indicated that the concentrations of several serum biomarkers, such as SA, survivin, interleukin- (IL-), and IL- are strongly associated with the severity and prognosis among CAP patients.– Therefore, we speculate that serum biomarkers exert vital roles in early illness estimation and prognostic prediction in CAP patients.
