Research Article: Elevated Serum NOX Levels Contribute to Delayed Cerebral Ischemia and a Poor Prognosis After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Prospective Cohort Study

Date Published: 2023-04-29

Abstract:
Spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a common emergency in neurosurgical science. Aneurysmal SAH (aSAH) approximately accounts for % of spontaneous SAH. aSAH is characterized by rapid onset, and high rates of disability and death. Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is a serious complication after aSAH and can greatly increase the risk of poor prognosis in such patients. Therefore, DCI prediction is of clinical benefit to aSAH management. During decades, biomarkers have been paid extensive attentions with respect to their aidance in severity assessment and prognostic prediction.
