Research Article: Metastasis Related Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition Signature Predicts Prognosis and Response to Chemotherapy in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Abstract:
Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is an intricate illness with diverse genetic alterations and heterogeneous clinical outcomes.– It is a highly aggressive malignancy that is associated with high relapse rates and poor overall survival outcomes. Chemotherapy is an effective treatment for AML, but it is heterogeneous in its effectiveness. While many patients with AML respond well to chemotherapy and achieve remission, others may have a poorer response or experience relapse despite treatment. This heterogeneity is likely due to the genetic and clinical diversity of AML, as well as the varying responses of individual patients to chemotherapeutic agents.– Therefore, there is a pressing need to create novel molecular markers that can precisely classify subtypes of AML patients who may derive greater benefits from specific treatment strategies.
