Introduction:
Meibomian Gland Disease (MGD) is a chronic, diffuse abnormality of the meibomian glands, often characterized by terminal duct obstruction and/or changes in glandular secretion. This may lead to alterations in the tear film, eye irritation, inflammation, and ocular surface disease. MGD is one of the most common reasons for ophthalmic visits, with an estimated % of Americans over the age of living with this condition.
