Research Article: Physical Activity, Depression and Quality of Life in COPD – Results from the CLARA II Study
Abstract:
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is an obstructive airway disease, characterized by chronic respiratory symptoms, as dyspnea, cough, excess sputum production, due to airway abnormalities that cause persistent airflow obstruction. Diagnosis of COPD is confirmed by the presence of not completely reversible obstructive airflow limitation as assessed by spirometry. Apart from preventive measures, especially smoking cessation, treatment of COPD is based on inhaled pharmacotherapy to mitigate the symptoms of this disease.
