Research Article: Clinical Characteristics and Treatment Outcomes of Acute Ischemic Stroke with Atrial Fibrillation Among Patients Admitted to Tertiary Care Hospitals in Amhara Regional State: Retrospective-Cohort Study
Abstract:
Stroke is the second-most leading cause of death following ischemic heart disease, contributing to % of all fatalities worldwide. It also ranks as the fourth-largest global cause of disease burden. The World Health Organization (WHO) describes acute stroke as quickly developing neurological signs of focal (or global) abnormalities in brain function, with symptoms lasting hr or more or resulting in death with no obvious cause apart from vascular origin. Stroke contributes significantly to morbidity, mortality, and disability in both developed and developing countries. It causes persistent problems in individuals such as physical dependence, cognitive deterioration, depression, and seizures.
