Research Article: Whole Genomic Analysis Revealed High Genetic Diversity and Drug-Resistant Characteristics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Guangxi, China
Abstract:
Tuberculosis (TB), caused by etiological Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), remains a public health worldwide and the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent until the COVID- pandemic. Previous studies revealed that M. tuberculosis originated in Africa and spread with human migration worldwide, it developed to a contemporary phylogeny consisting of nine recognized lineages (L–L) with vary in their distribution between countries and continents. In China, Lineage (L) and Lineage (L) are the most widely distributed throughout the country, whereas Lineage (L) and Lineage (L) are most prevalent in Southeast and Northwest, respectively.
