Nearly a million people have been diagnosed with dementia in the United Kingdom (UK), and this number is continuing to rise. Many of these individuals are cared for by informal caregivers, defined as unpaid family, friends, or community members. Estimates suggest that there are currently , informal dementia caregivers in the UK contributing to the equivalent economic value of £ billion and providing over . billion hours of unpaid care.
