Research Article: Preparation, Characterization, and Anti-Lung Cancer Activity of Tetrandrine-Loaded Stealth Liposomes
Abstract:
Tetrandrine (Tet) is a natural product belonging to the bis-benzylisoquinoline alkaloid family (Figure ) that was originally isolated and purified from the roots of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Stephania tetrandra S. Moore. Multiple studies have shown that Tet has a wide range of diverse pharmacological effects. The antitumor effect of Tet is a widely investigated pharmacological activity, primarily achieved through direct inhibition of cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis and autophagy in cancer cells, inhibition of migration and invasion of tumor cells, and reversal of multidrug resistance in tumor cells, among other mechanisms.–
