Vascular dementia (VD) is a progressive disease that affects individuals’ cognitive ability and is caused by various acute or chronic cerebrovascular diseases. VD is the second leading cause of dementia, , with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) being the leading cause. Most VD patients suffer from slowed thinking, impaired memory, depression, and a loss of executive functions, which seriously affect their daily lives.
