Abstract:
Primary liver cancer ranks as the sixth most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide and is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) comprises roughly –% of all primary liver cancers. In China, hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major risk factor for HCC development. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) serves as a widely used biomarker for the surveillance, diagnosis, and prognostic prediction of HCC. In recent years, several studies have reported that AFP level changes may predict treatment outcomes in patients undergoing chemoembolization, antiangiogenic therapy, and liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma.–
