Research Article: Risk of Pneumonia in Patients with COPD Initiating Fixed Dose Inhaled Corticosteroid (ICS) / Long-Acting Bronchodilator (LABD) Formulations Containing Extrafine Beclometasone Dipropionate versus Patients Initiating LABD Without ICS

Date Published: 2024-01-20

Abstract:
Inhaled long-acting bronchodilators (LABD) include both long-acting beta agonists (LABA) and long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMA). LABD use in COPD has been shown to improve lung function, dyspnoea, health status and reduce exacerbations rates. In patients who experience frequent or moderate to severe exacerbations, inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) can be combined with LABD, forming either a double or triple therapy.,
