Research Article: Women Health Literacy and Associated Factors on Women and Child Health Care in Ilu Ababor Public Health Facilities, Ethiopia
Abstract:
The ability of mothers to access, comprehend, evaluate, and apply information about mother and child health is known as maternal health literacy (MHL). MHL helps to reduce the rates of maternal and infant mortality,, which in turn helps to achieve SDGs (good health and well-being: lowering the maternal and child mortality ratio) and (zero hunger: reducing underweight and stunting among young children). Maternal health literacy has the potential to influence women’s motivation, comprehension, and utilization of information in ways that support and preserve their own and their children’s health, according to Renkert and Nutbeam. To guarantee healthy maternity and pregnancy outcomes, maternal health literacy and cognitive skills are necessary. According to Kohan et al, these include the capacity to identify risk factors and implement healthier lifestyles and improved nutrition during pregnancy.
