Introduction: Compared to mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery (BCS) guarantees equivalent local control and survival, with lower morbidity and better quality of life (QOL), even in the long term. However, some BCS patients consider the cosmetic result to be unsatisfactory, which may affect QOL.
